Place of Interest

Lake Maninjau is a volcanic lake formed thousands of years ago by a massive volcanic eruption. It is located in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, and is surrounded by lush green hills that form a vast and scenic caldera.

One of its unique features is its wide, calm surface that resembles a giant mirror, with water colors that change depending on the weather and sunlight. Around the lake, traditional villages preserve the cultural heritage of the Minangkabau people.

In addition to being a popular tourist destination, Lake Maninjau is also used for fisheries and hydroelectric power generation. The combination of natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and local cultural life makes Lake Maninjau one of the most iconic natural attractions in West Sumatra.
