Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang and Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport in Jakarta have resumed operations, according to the Ministry of Transportation's official announcement on Tuesday (8/9/2026).

"We would like to inform you that the three affected airports have resumed operations and flights can resume in accordance with operational conditions and applicable regulations," wrote the official Instagram account of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Authority Office, Region 1 Main Class, on its Instagram account (IG), otbansatu.

Travelers, please check your flight status and schedule through your airline's official channels before heading to the airport. To ensure flight safety and security, the airport reopening comes with several restrictions.

  1. Airport authorities and airlines must inspect all aircraft before operations resume.
  2. Pilots and aircraft operating crews must be aware of restricted polygons. These are polygon-shaped airspace areas restricted or prohibited by relevant authorities due to volcanic ash.

Volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau has impacted airspace and airport operations since Saturday. As a result, eight airports, including Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Banten, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta, Radin Inten II Airport in Lampung, Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, Budiarto Airport in Curug in Banten, Pondok Cabe Airport in Banten, Taufik Kiemas Airport on the West Coast of Lampung, and Atung Bungsu Airport in Pagar Alam, South Sumatra, have been closed.

Airlines must continue coordinating with airport management, authorities, and relevant agencies to ensure safe and secure operations," Dudy emphasized, adding that flights should follow operational conditions and applicable regulations.

Now you can fly to everywhere and prepare your trip to Yogya, Malang, Bali, Padang, and Manado
