LOMBOK, SUMBAWA and KOMODO - Adventure Package (9D 8N)
Komodo National Park is located in the center of the Indonesian archipelago,
between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores. Established in 1980, the main purpose
of the Park was to conserve the unique Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) and
its habitat. Called “ora” by the local people, Komodo is actually a giant monitor
lizard. Growing up to 3 to 4 meters in length, its ancestors roamed the earth
up to about half a million years ago.
This is full adventure program. Designed for visitor who interested in explore
the jungle and the ocean. Combinaton of culture and adventure make this program is highly recommended
for adventurer.
Day 01. Arrival MATARAM Airport / Harbor – Transfer to Hotel
Upon your arrival at Mataram - Lombok Airport / Harbor you will be welcomed by
our Tour Guide, and transferred to your hotel accommodation. The rest of the day
is free / leisure program.
Day 02. SASAK & SOUTHERN BEACHES TOUR ( B, L )
After breakfast at hotel, you will join Sasak & Southern Beaches Tour. A
comprehensive tour beginning with a visit to the village of Banyumulek, where
they make pottery for daily use – simple in design and primitive in style.
Next, you will visit Sukarara, a traditional weaving village where the cloth is
made
for their daily sarongs. Then, you will go to the South to the traditional villages
of
Sengkol and Rambitan where you can see how the locals live in hyperbolic shaped,
thatched huts, before proceeding to the coast and to Kuta Beach. Here, you can
enjoy the beach while having lunch at a local restaurant (lunch included). For
the energetic, climb the promontory for the spectacular views over bays and beaches.
We return to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 03. GILI AIR TOUR ( B, L )
After breakfast at hotel, you will join our Gili Air Tour. Here is your chance
to see some of the natural beauty of Lombok. We begin traveling to the north following
the inland road through the hills and the Pusuk Forest to see monkeys, which line
the roadsides (take some fruits or nuts to feed them). Afetrwards, down to the
coast
and go to the village of Pemenang where you board the outrigger for the 20-minute
crossing to Gili Air. This island is renowned for its superb snorkeling, as crystal
clear waters, a reef of tropical corals, and millions of multicolored fish surround
it. You can hire snorkeling and diving equipments on this island. It is also worth
to hire a horse-cart and wander the surrounding island in approximately one hour.
Lunch in picnic box will be provided. Return by outrigger to the mainland in the
afternoon and then follow the coastal road South to Senggigi area. Travel up and
over headlands and down through numerous bays; the scenery is stunning.
Day 04. LOMBOK – SUMBAWA BESAR REGION ( B, L )
After breakfast at hotel, you will check out from the hotel and begin your inter-island
overland to the region of Sumbawa Besar. We will have some en route visits along
the journey. Our first stop is at Lingsar Temple, the unique temple that belongs
to Hindus and Moslems (a version of Moslem that includes the visit to sacred places
in their rituals). Next is Narmada (the name was derived from a holy river in
India). A summer palace for the Hindu Lords was built in 1727 here. The place
resembles to Rinjani Volcano including artificial lake for offering purposes.
There is spring water in the middle of the complex and renowned as the water of
eternity. Then, we will proceed to Labuhan Lombok Harbor, where we will aboard
the ferry for approximately one and a half hour across the Alas Strait to Tano
Harbor
at the western tip of Sumbawa Island. We continue the drive from Tano Harbor to
the old Alas Harbor, where we will commence an approximately twenty minutes boat
ride to the densest populated island in the world, Bungin Island. Then, we will
drive along the coastal road passing through villages up to the hotel in Sumbawa
Besar. Lunch in picnic box will be served en route.
Day 05. SUMBAWA BESAR – Free Program ( B )
Breakfast will be served at hotel. You will have full day free and leisure at
hotel today.
We advise you to take optional boat trip to MOYO ISLAND NATIONAL PARK. This island is renowned for its wild life, bird treasury, and marine beauty
with multicolored fish and variety of corals. It is worth to wander inland, where
you will have the opportunity to observe wild deer, boar, and cows. The enthusiasts
may go further into a cave that provides the shade for bats and snakes. You can
swim, snorkel (you may rent snorkel equipment from the hotel), and relax
on the island white sandy beach after walking. There is an exclusive area on
this island, where a resort named Aman Wana is built (the princess Lady Diana
had spent several nights in this resort few years before she passed away). Picnic
lunch package will be included in this trip. Then, you will return to the hotel
by
boat in the afternoon.
Day 06. SUMBAWA BESAR – BIMA ( B, L )
After breakfast at hotel, we will take sightseeing in the vicinity town of Sumbawa
Besar. This trip will include the visit to ‘Dalam Loka’ - the old house of teak
woods that was used as the palace of former Sultan of Sumbawa Besar. We continue
to ‘Bale Kuning’, where we can observe the remained treasuries of the Sultan.
Next is Sumbawa Besar local market, where we can see the people sell and buy daily
needs. We proceed to Pamulung Village, where we can observe traditional houses
of Samawan people (the native people of Sumbawa Besar). Afterwards, we will return
to
the hotel for a short rest and lunch. After check out from the hotel, we will
continue
our overland drive to Bima, the easternmost region of Sumbawa Island. The journey
will pass by many villages, coastal roads, valleys and headlands. We will be pleased
to offer photo stops at any places for taking pictures. We will arrive
in Bima late in the afternoon, and directly check in to the hotel for rest and
overnight.
Day 07. BIMA – KOMODO ISLAND ( B, L, D )
After breakfast at hotel, we will aboard the coach and continue the drive to
Sape Harbor which is located on the eastern tip of Sumbawa Island. Some en route photo stops can be made at Maria Village, where we can see an
old and almost abandoned rice barns complex. Next is Sape Village, where we can
see the local fishermen’s complex, and sometimes we can see them working to build
the new boats for locally usages. Then, we will across Sape Strait on board of
the local boat to Komodo Island. Please note that our boat is specially designed for touring the islands, and
yet facilitated with passenger cabins, toilets (sharing), spacious deck, powerful
engine, security radio communication, lifeboat, and jackets. Our boat cabins can
accommodate the maximum passengers of 18 persons (on single and double configurations).
Additional passengers shall accept beddings on mattress rolled on the sheltered
boat deck. We will approach Komodo Island in the afternoon. We can stop at the
pink beach for those who want to swim and snorkel if the weather
and the sea conditions are save. After that, we will proceed to Loho Liang Bay
(near The Komodo National
Park Post Station) for anchor and rest. Lunch and dinner will be served on board.
Day 08. KOMODO EXPLORATION – Return to BIMA ( B, L, D )
After breakfast on boat, we will proceed to the post station for visitor registrations
and meet the local ranger to escort. Our boat may not accessible to forward on
to the pier. On this circumstance, we will use the lifeboat to transfer vice versa.
After the registrations, we will begin to explore Komodo Island on foot up to
Banunggulung Watching Ground. This is the best vantage point to observe the ancient
reptile known as varanus komodoenses. The exploration trip shall be escorted with
the local ranger. Then the walk will pass through some paths, woods, and
bush. We highly recommend you to put on appropriate shoes, long pants, and t-shirt.
Please avoid wearing on red color, and the ladies on the periods shall keep the
distance to the reptiles. Do not belief if they were looked so tame; they are
still the wild creatures.
After the attractions, we will return to the post station for a short rest then
aboard the boat for the return journey to Sape Harbor. We will be picked up and
transferred to Bima. Lunch will be served on boat, dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 09. BIMA CITY TOUR – Transfer to Bima Airport for departure ( B )
After breakfast at hotel, we will have a short sightseeing to visit the Sultanate
Palace, local market, and Bima harbor. Then, we will proceed to Bima Airport to
catch the flight to your next destination.
