Kelimutu National Park is located on the island of Flores, Indonesia. It has
a unique and spectacular view on its three crater lakes with their respective
colors. The colors, however, have changed continually since the eruption of Mount
Iya in Ende in 1969. The surrounding villages are good places serving as bases
or visits to Kelimutu, particularly those who wish to have a more leisurely place
and enjoy the views.

Day 1: Benoa, Bali – Labuan Amuk
Embarkation on to the sea Safari in Benoa Harbor. Departure at 09.00am, welcome
drinks will be offered. Cabin allocation will take place before depart to Labuan
Amuk for free water activities such as snorkeling or diving. In the late afternoon,
we depart to Teluk Nara (Nara Bay), Lombok.
Day 2: Nara Bay, Lombok
In the early morning as the sun rises over Mount Rinjani, we anchor in Nara
Bay on the North West Side of Lombok. After breakfast, we go ashore and our first
visit is the tropical forest at Pusuk where we can feed monkeys and in a clear
weather, enjoy the amazing view of surrounding forest and of the Gili Island.
We then continue to the local market Gunung Sari and to the center Bamboo Handicrafts
around there to be a witness to the process and technique of bamboo's export quality
product. We go on to visit Lingsar Temple, a unique site that dates back to 1714
and that sacred to both Hindus and Moslems and proceed to Banyumulek to see how
the local people make famous pottery product. Passing through the most famous
tourist
resort of lombok, Senggigi Beach on the way to the boat, we stop at Malibu the
most fantastic view point to see the Gili Island in a clear weather, Bali
Island. Over lunch, the boat will raised the anchor and we set sail to Satonda. |
Day 3: Satonda Island, Sumbawa
In the early morning, we arrive in Satonda, the uninhabited island, which is
separated
by a narrow strait from the Tamboja Volcano on the Sumbawa mainland, the site
of largest eruption in recorded history. Going ashore, we discover that Satonda
itself is a volcano, a small black basaltic cone rising out of the sea. You can
land on its little beach, follow a trail to a cleft in the cone, and enter the
volcano's caldera. The caldera contains a narrow strip of land surrounding a black,
salty lake. On this peaceful island, there will be free time for swimming and
snorkeling or diving. In the afternoon, we sail to Komodo.
Day 4: Komodo National Park
In the morning, we arrive in Rinca passing through the small amazing panoramic
island. In the afternoon, we will arrive in the land of “Komodo Dragon”, the largest
monitor lizards on earth, then enter to the Komodo National Park. Escorted
by a local ranger, we walk around the park to find the huge animal at very close
range in their own habitat and enjoy the fascinating panorama of the island in
the late afternoon. Around sunset time, we leave for Aimere.
Day 5: Aimere
Morning pick up from Aimere Pier and directly drive to Bajawa (a cool town in
the middle of Flores highland) for about 1.5 hours. The first stop will be made
on the foot of Mt Inelika for about 2.5 hours trekking to see the Wawo Muda ‘five
new lakes’. It erupted in Jan 2001, damaging farmlands but hurting no one. It
was
a wonderful sight, and the like up though the farmlands was lovely. Return
to Bajawa for Indonesian lunch at Camelia Restaurant then visit Bena- a megalithic
village, where people do preserve their ancestral spirits believed and way of
life
which can be seen in their “ngadhu” and Bhaga”- conical thatched roof huts symbolized
their Male and Female ancestral spirit. On the way, stop on slope of Inerie active
volcano for taking pictures. At noon, return to Aimere to get on board.

Day 6: Ende
Breakfast at 05.30 then drive up to Kelimitu volcano to see
the three colored lakes. Upon arrival, walk for 1.5 km and ascend 127 steps to
the top
to view Kelimutu’s green, blue and black lakes. A dutch geologist discovered Kelimutu
in 1914; at the time the lakes were red, blue and white. Then return to Moni for
lunch at Kelimutu Restaurant. Proceed to Jopu village to view beautiful hand woven
clothes and its traditional lionese houses before returning to Ende to get
on board.
Day 7: Labuan Bajo
Early in the morning, we arrive in another island in Flores, Labuan Bajo. Prepare
yourself for half day excursion to Melo Village to see Caci dance performance
and go to the local market. Lunch and dinner served onboard before sailing to
Bima.
Day 8: Bima
Welcome to another place in the heart of eastern Sumbawa, Bima the busy traditional
harbor. Our representative will pick you up and we spend to explore
the town and the Donggo highland west of Bima Bay in the morning. Around lunchtime,
we leave
the quay and after sailing out of Bima Bay, go on a westerly headling again for
our overnight passage to Moyo.
Day 9: Moyo
Early arrival at Moyo, a wild-life and marine reserve. We make a landfall visit
on Moyo, a small island of the northern Sumbawa. We stop at one of several fine
snorkeling sites along its west coast and go ashore at the village of labuan Haji.
In the late afternoon, we hoist the anchor and sail back to Benoa, Bali.
Day 10: Bali
Early morning, the ship leaves Gili Island for Benoa harbor in Bali. Before we
reach the mount of Benoa, near Sanur (Bali) we will see pulau Serangan – also
known as Turtle Island. At low tide, we will take you to this island for Turtle
Conservation Tour. Previously, turtles are captured and fattened up here in pens
before being sold for village feasts. However, turtles are now being protected
on the west coast of Bali due to dwindling numbers and tourists are advised to
refrain from eating any turtle meat or buying products made from turtles. Upon
arrival in Benoa Harbor at 12.00 noon (after lunch) you will be transferred to
your hotel. We hope you have a very nice trip. |
